Susan Ratliff is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Sciences from Athens State University and a Master of Counseling Psychology degree from Alabama A&M University. Susan has been in practice in North Alabama for over 20 years and has clinical experience in outpatient and inpatient settings. She has served a variety of populations through individual, group, marital, and family therapy. Susan is passionate in her desire to support individuals and families in obtaining personal growth, empowerment, and increased awareness while ultimately aiding clients in achievement of their short and long term goals.
Susan is the newest member to the North Alabama Family Psychiatry & Counseling team. She is eager to serve your therapy needs and is actively accepting new patients.
Susan subscribes to an integrative therapeutic approach, utilizing tools associated with, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy. Her desire is to support individuals and families in healthy growth as they succeed in achieving their goals.
Susan works with children, adolescents, and adults utilizing different treatment modalities that fit the individual needs of each person. Her areas of interest include: Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Mood Disorders and Substance Abuse. Susan also offers therapy to assist with stress management, anger management, self-esteem issues, relational issues, marital/family therapy, life transitions, and grief/loss.
